If you rate this adapter compared to a SLR direct mounting adapter well its gonna fall way behind, but compared to all the other point and shoot adapters. This one probaly comes out ahead. I have a Pentax PF-80ED-A. Using a samsung point and shoot. Its can be annoying to try to get the lense where it needs to be over the eyepiece. Make sure you get the arm clamps fixed right. If you dont get them fixed rigth then you cant flip the camera out of the way. This is where this mount tops others. Once you get it mounted correctly (paitence needed) it allows you to flip the camera to the side and allow you to look throught the scope normally. A necessity to get the proper focus for a picture. Then the camera and be layed back over in place and take the picture. If you have the zoom eyepiece you need to get the camera directly centered over the eyepiece. Other wise when you zoom you gonna end up with some blackness. For quality pictures keep the zoom lower also. Dont be frustrated it can be annoying getting it mounted, but once it is mounted it works, and it will work as long as it s on thee flipping the camera back with repeatbility. If you unclamp the mount from the scope then you have to re-adjust it, usally minor adjustments to get it zeroed over the eyepeice with proper relief. If you have a pentax (this mount is for pentax ONLY) spotting scope and dont feel like spending alot of money on a Pentax SLR & the SLR adapter(easily to $900+ total), and you got a point and shoot this is the way to go.
If your scope is just sitting in the window of your house and your not traveling. Then I would reccommend not removing the mount or camera, doing either will lead to rezeoring it. Dont expect to be able to put it on there in 1 minute. 10-30 mins to get it adjusted right. But once you get it mounted it will work so dont be discouraged.
I gave it a 4 because its better than most adapters, but not 5 cause setup it annoying.
